Planning for the Future; Your Will, Your Way

A will is more than just paperwork; it’s one of the most significant documents you’ll ever create. It ensures your hard-earned assets are distributed exactly as you intended, providing security for your loved ones and honouring the values you hold dear and organisations you care about.

By formalising your wishes, you guarantee a smooth transition for your estate and ensure that the people and causes closest to your heart have peace of mind.

Types of Bequests

A bequest is a gift of any size left to an organisation in a will.

Whether it’s cash, shares, or property, these gifts create a lasting impact. While we encourage you to seek professional legal advice, here are the most common ways to give:

Specific Bequest: Gifting a particular item, such as artwork, jewellery, or real estate.
Residuary Gift: Leaving the "remainder" of your estate after all other gifts, taxes, and debts have been settled. This is often the most flexible way to give.
Pecuniary Legacy: A specific, fixed sum of money designated for a beneficiary.
Conditional Bequest: A "safety net" gift that ensures your estate supports a chosen cause if your primary beneficiaries do not survive you.

Leaving a Legacy of Care

Your Will is a reflection of your values. By including Boandik in your estate planning, you ensure that our community continues to receive the dignity, comfort, and exceptional care they deserve.

A bequest to Boandik, whether large or small, directly impacts the lives of our residents. These gifts allow us to invest in modern facilities, specialised equipment, and those "extra" lifestyle amenities that can make all the difference.

Suggested Wording for your Will

While we always recommend seeking professional advice from a solicitor or legal practitioner, you may use the following language as a guide:

"I GIVE [insert amount, specific asset, specified percentage of my whole estate, or the residue of my estate] absolutely and free of duty to Boandik Lodge Inc, 101 Lake Terrace East, Mount Gambier, South Australia 5290 (‘Boandik”), to be applied towards the promotion of its objects and I direct that the receipt of the Chief Executive or other authorised officer for the time being of Boandik is an absolute discharge to my executors."

Why Notify Us?
